Oops
This is for the latest tooth...the tooth fairy was two nights late....and also for the tooth from last month that she never did pick up. Leo was very understanding and wondered what could have made her wing sore. I guess we'll never know.

American Airlines CR Smith Museum
There is a little museum down at the American Airlines headquarters at DFW airport. And it turns out that we live right down the street from all of this. So we decided to go down there.
I must preface this by saying that we learned last summer that Henry does not like museums that have dramatic lighting (dark with spotlights aimed at the exhibits) and he does not like mannequins. We learned this last year at the Boy Scouts museum. I thought maybe I had a post about that, but I can't find it. I don't know why I thought I'd find any b/c Henry was clinging to me and screaming the whole time - I didn't take pictures, and I really didn't want to blog about it.
So, anyway, I tried to find out if the AA museum was like this, but I couldn't get info from any other mommies. So we decided to just go check it out.

Henry insisted on wearing Leo's shirt on this day.

Well, it turns out it was mostly dark with dramatic lighting...and it also had mannequins. Gah! The docents helped us run through the dark part to get to this light hangar with the airplane. This put Henry at ease a tiny bit, and we were able to look at some of the rest of it after he calmed down. He really never did relax, though.

The boys did not like the smell inside the plane - it was really musty.

Then we were able to go back into the museum part a little bit.

Henry really wanted to get in this.

I made a rubbing of an airplane. No one else would do it.

This is what I hear in my dreams.

Yay, mannequins.

More mannequins.

And on and on...

This was the hit of the museum.

Summer Reading
As we've done our reading this summer, we've been participating in local summer reading programs. This one was at Barnes and Noble. If he read 10 books, he got to choose a free book from a list.
He got to put his name on a board.

Here's his form and the book he chose.

I begged him to please smile.

Of course he was not thrilled with his choices for the free book, so I also let him choose a book he wanted. And Henry got to pick one, too. Their marketing plan worked.
