At Henry's 4 month check up, Dr. McD said we could try cereal whenever he was ready. We tried at 4 mos - he wasn't ready. Crying, weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. We tried again a couple of weeks ago with some bananas added - more of the same.
He has always been a big eater, but it has really increased recently. The other day he ate 9 at one sitting for me. Then, tonight, he ate 10 oz and then was famished 2.5 hrs later! So I mixed him up some rice cereal and bananas. After a few timid swallows, he got the hang of it. He was opening up like a little bird every time he saw that food coming - and smiling in between bites.
Here's hoping for a satisfied boy and many nights of long, deep sleep! And thank goodness for the bumbo - that thing is great for feeding little ones. He also likes to sit in it on the table and watch us eat our meals. Guess he'll be joining in on the fun from here on out.
This was a big day for firsts - he also rolled from back to tummy today for the first time.

I can do it!

I really wanted to be able to wear Henry on my back without having to have someone help me. I thought it would be hard - but it's pretty simple. It's so convenient - much more comfortable and practical than having him on my front.
A new little man
I decided it was time for Henry to get a haircut. Despite my unfortunate bang cutting incident from 6th grade, I decided to take a chance and do it myself. I think it turned out pretty good. Here's a before and after.

For my Louisiana readers
I know you will think this is funny...
This is a sign of the big city in which we live. In one of my mommy groups this morning, one of the mommies had a question about a decal she had seen on a car. She couldn't figure out why the pregnant woman had antlers. Look at it very closely - it does look like a preggo with antlers!!!

Sometimes I underestimate him!
Yesterday we went through the pharmacy drive-thru after I picked Leo up from preschool.
Leo: What are we doing at the pharmacy?
Me: I need to pick up a prescription.
Leo: Is the prescription for you, me, Daddy, or Henry?
Me: It's for Mommy.
Leo: What body part is it for?
I was so surprised that he understood that medicine is always for different body parts.
