Our Lubbock Trip - Fourth of July 2008 (Part 1)

We had a Subway picnic at a rest stop on the way. We loved this - fun to eat outside and the boys could explore and stretch their legs a little bit.

When we got to Gran and Grandpa's, Henry immediately got on the rocking horse! This was fun to watch b/c Leo would never ride a rocking horse when he was a toddler.

Henry loves this squishy thing!

Gran has an amazing toy closet!

Leo couldn't wait to visit the horse! (He's peeking out from behind that plant.)

So excited to see his cousins!

We went to the American Wind Power Center and Museum for a great view of the Lubbock fireworks.

Exploring the inside of the museum. It is really an interesting place - they have some of the windmills in a sunken area so you can walk close to the tops of them.

Henry and Leo go to Louisiana (June)

I'm just now getting around to posting pictures from the boys' trip to Louisiana in June. They had an awesome time, as you can tell!

Is it Fall yet?

It is the dog days of summer here in Texas - it's a very, very hot one this year.

The boys are doing well. I've had Leo busy all summer at VBS, a trip to Louisiana, Spanish Immersion Summer Camp, a trip to Lubbock, and they both went to daycamp at a local church. Leo starts Kindergarten in two weeks - hard to believe! Henry cried the first few times I dropped him off at daycamp, but he is happy to go every day now and was very upset when I wouldn't take him as soon as he got up this morning. Henry is still a talking machine and amazes us with his vocabulary and ability to mimic.

The poison ivy rash just wouldn't start getting any better and was keeping me awake, so I finally went and got steroids and a rx antihistimine. It is finally looking better.

I've been trying to make more time for doing a few little things that are just for me. I picked up my crochet hook again - had to get out the book I initially used to learn crochet to remind myself how to get started. I began with a couple of dishrags...

And yesterday I made my first hat! I'm pretty proud of it. I really enjoyed making it, and it only took a few hours. Fun but dangerous! My next project is to make a table runner for the table in the foyer.

What I did this weekend...

Somehow...someway...I got Poison Ivy. I guess it's Poison Ivy. I haven't been in a wooded area, but that's what it seems to be. So, I spent the weekend on the couch, pretty much. Thank goodness the worst days were when Todd was home. I went to The Minute Clinic and she would only give me a topical - no pills or shots. So it is taking awhile to go away. It is worst on my right leg, but I have it on both legs and both arms.

Friday morning...

Sunday afternoon... (notice I'm still in the same robe. It was that kinda weekend.)

I was playing around with some music yesterday, and Henry decided to dance to the oldies! In the first one you can hear him say "cheese!" - he does that whenever he sees a camera. I don't say that to him, so I don't know where he heard it.
