One Sunday morning recently, Todd had gone running. It was just the boys and myself at the house. I was standing at the laptop (shock!), and the boys were chasing...when I heard the loudest, scariest sound of head striking brick. Henry had fallen and busted his head!
I sent Leo next door to see if our neighbor is home b/c she is a surgical nurse...but of course, she was gone. So I took some quick pictures to get some advice from friends. I thought it probably needed stitches, but I wanted to be sure I wasn't overreacting.
The verdict was...yes, stitches, post haste.
So I loaded them up in the car and we drove to every parking lot in the park until we crossed paths with Toddly. I had clean clothes for him. He didn't even seem surprised when he saw me standing in the parking lot waiting for him to get closer. I think we are used to the unexpected at this point.
We took him to the ER and got him all stitched up. Of course, that is a lot easier said than done - we were there about 4 hours, I guess. But...we were all no worse for the wear.
I'm honestly surprised it took this long for someone to need stitches!
