Mike and Rakhshanda's Wedding

We are so thrilled for our friend Mike. Mike has been Todd's friend since he started his first job out of college. They've worked together at two companies, and we have socialized with him many times. He is a funny, warm-hearted, genuine, giving man...and we're so thrilled that he finally found the perfect woman!

Todd was a groomsman - his scarf is a traditional fabric from the bride's province in Pakistan.

They had a short ceremony and then a BIG party reception! It was soooooooooooo much fun!

(I had my stupid camera set on "macro" for most of the ceremony....that's why they're fuzzy.)

After the ceremony, we mingled while the couple changed for the reception. There were appetizers, a chocolate fountain, and a photo booth! Fun!

Then they had an amazing reception with belly dancers, slide shows of their childhood, a funny video by Mike of how they met, a funny game, and American and Indian food.

When we first entered the reception, there were belly dancers.

Mike (probably one of the three most funnysmart people I know) made a HILARIOUS video of "how they met." It included how they both got to Texas. Mike came from Iowa. Todd and Mike worked at both of these companies....this might not be funny to others, but we really appreciated the work humor b/c we went through this. Well, I went through part of it, haha. Since I didn't enter the picture until 1998.

Allergic Reaction

Henry started breaking out in some sort of rash on Wednesday night. We thought it was just a mosquito bite at that time. But then I noticed bumps all over his legs before school on Thursday - but they were tiny pinpricks, and I just thought it was a little heat rash from playing in sand at school on Wednesday for "Water Play Day." Then by the time we got to school, it was all over his arms and legs, behind his ears, and a bit on his torso.

I brought him home and called the doctor, and they told me to bring him in. The doctor immediately diagnosed "allergic reaction," and we've been taking Benadryl every 6 hours. Yesterday, the Benadryl really helped him stop scratching.

But this morning it has spread, and now the Benadryl isn't working as well. We are adding a topical cortisone...and we'll be going back in to the doctor tomorrow morning if it's not better.

This morning, the worst of it is behind his ears, on his ears, inside his ears, and under his chin. The legs actually look a bit better....which I guess makes sense since it broke out there first. I once had an allergic reaction to perfume that looked just like this. It got worse on the second day...so I'm trying to remember that and not get too worked up. But it's hard to look at and watch him scratch.

And, no....I really don't know what this is a reaction to. Besides the sand, we can't think of anything "new" in his little world.

Biscuits and Books

Leo did a project at school where the class read many books by the same author. Then each student chose a book on which to focus for the project. Today (May 5) was the culminating activity. Leo dressed as the main character in his book (a little girl) and after the book parade, we all had biscuits in the cafeteria.
