We've been busy!

We moved in on the ninth, and we've been really busy. Leo has had a stomach bug...got better...and now he has a fever for some reason. We're hoping to all be healthy soon!

We've been eating lots of frozen dinners and lots of take-out. Not much adventurous cooking here lately.

We finally got most boxes in the house unpacked. I told Todd we were in the danger zone, because we really could just stop unpacking and be ok...but there were still tons of boxes in the garage. We tackled those yesterday and today, and we've made real progress.

We've also been adding lots of little conveniences and extra storage.

Got this little beauty at the container store...

This is the handy rubber hammer that I bought at the Container Store for putting together that other thing. I thought Todd would think it was pointless, but he liked it immediately, and we've used it for several other projects. He calls it "The Super Hammer."

Last weekend, Todd put up more shelving in the laundry, which is right by the kitchen. The pantry is kinda small, so I needed more storage.

Our bedroom doorknob needed a fix, so we put in a new one (and one on the bathroom door) that matched the bathroom hardware. Actually, I did most of this myself while Todd was working on shelving in the garage! I was pretty proud!

And my "Sam's Shelves"! I call them that b/c almost everything I buy in bulk at Sam's goes on shelves out in the garage. Todd got them up today, and I feel so much better. Lots of stuff up off the floor now. We got the adjustable kind this time, and we like them much better than the ones we put up in Plano. They are eight feet long and deeper than our old ones.

We had one of these at our Plano house, and we couldn't live without it. I ordered one the day we moved in!

Happy Friday!

The boys are in Monroe, and I'm supposed to be packing. Yesterday I got all the arrangements made for utilities/services that have to be turned off and on...electricity, gas, cable, water, phone, etc. Actually, I'm going to have to go to Coppell to get the water turned on. Somebody told me it was like a small old-fashioned town in the middle of Dallas, and they weren't lying.

Green Beans, Flip Flops, our run in with The Law, and the Easter Bunny

Another round of pictures of my child who has no toys b/c our house is "staged."

This is one of the boys' favorite activities with daddy. Leo asks for "10 Flip Flops" every night when Todd comes home, so now Henry is in on the action.

We're in big trouble with our HOA b/c our lawn has weeds. They told us two weeks ago to take care of it, so we mowed. Apparently, that wasn't good enough, so we got Step Two of the threatening letter campaign. We called "The Professionals" at ChemLawn this weekend for help - we have to stay in good with the HOA right now b/c of closing on the house next week. ChemLawn said these were normal Spring Weeds that they can't do anything about right now - we would have to pull by hand and mow. So we added that to our list of chores for the weekend. And then sent a very nice letter to the HOA telling how concerned we are about our lawn and what steps we are taking to get ourselves straightened out. Tsk, tsk. We are hanging our heads in shame. lol.

Pictures of the Coppell House

Last week, we had a great offer on our house. We accepted...the inspection is over...and all is set to close on April 2.

Last weekend, we did some house hunting in Coppell and found a little gem at our last stop. WE LOVE IT! We drove it today during non-rush hour, and it took 14 minutes. We're predicting 19 minutes at rush hour! It is 4 BR/2.5 bath, 2375 sq ft, bigger yard than we've had, and it backs up to a great elementary school. We went back today for the inspection so I took some pictures and video.

When you walk in the foyer, the formals are immediately to your right. Most windows in the house have plantation shutters. The floor in these rooms and the kitchen is stained concrete - very good for little boys! The door that you can see open at the end of this room goes to the kitchen.

The family room is straight ahead through the foyer when you walk into the house. It has a wood-burning fireplace and a couple of built-ins.

It also has a little wetbar.

Some videos. In the kitchen, all the appliances are being replaced with new stainless. Double oven, microwave, cooktop, and dishwasher. They were putting them in today when we were leaving.
