I was rocking H, and Leo comes in with an alphabet tracing sheet. He has forgotten what sound the letter P makes, so he says "What does P start with?," which in Leo language means "Tell me some words that start with P."

me: puh, puh, puh, Papa
Leo: oh yeah...puh, puh
me: and popcorn
Leo: and p*ssed in cup
me: What?
Leo: p*ssed in cup
me: Leo, where did you learn that word?
Leo, realizing that the tone has changed: I didn't learn that word.
me: It's ok, I just want to know where you heard it.
Leo: Well, they said it at Panther Preschool.
me: They said it at school? P*ssed in cup?
Leo: yes, and on that movie - the p*ssed in cup.

Finally dawns on me. CARS. The Piston Cup.

Daddy: I will!
(we close the door)
Leo: Why didn't Daddy say yes?
Me: Well, he said "I will."
Leo: But why didn't he say yes?
Me, defeated (envisioning the many hours ahead): I don't know, Leo.
Leo: Well, I think it's just because Daddy is a scourge.
