When I have my next job review...

I'm going to add "meets school theme fashion requirements" to my duties and ask for a raise! I haven't worked this hard on clothes since college! A lot of this is for Red Ribbon Week...slip away from drugs, hide from drugs, etc.

We've had...

Hat Day (They start you off easy. I had this one.)
Twin Day (coordinated with neighbor)
Slipper Day (fuzzy crocs at WM; bought the day before)
Camouflage Day ($5.50 Garanimals at WM - the camo I bought for this year is still too big)
Color Week (the only day I missed was purple. Had to cry uncle at 8pm the night before.)
Cowboy Day (they did a little music and dance number for all the parents in cowboy attire. I totally flunked this one. He told me they had cowboy hats for them, so I said "good enough.")

File Folder Games

I have 40+ of these file folder games that I made in college for assignments for classes. The idea was that I would have activities ready when I started as a new teacher - things the kids could do when they finished at different times, rainy days, etc. They work on reading skills, sorting, classifying, alphabetical order, math skills, etc. Anyway, they never saw any use b/c I taught sixth grade. But, I hung onto them b/c I put many, many hours of work into them...and it paid off. Leo is loving them! In the game pictured, you match the ending of a word up with its beginning sounds.

Henry B is 2 today!

How time flies! I can't believe my baby is two year old!

Henry is doing great - talking up a storm. He speaks in complete sentences and has no trouble getting his point across or talking with Leo. He loves to try on shoes and run around the house in "high heels" or "boots." He startles people by speaking to them at the grocery store before they speak to him. He loves to go outside and play at the park. He loves going to school on T/Th - his favorite parts are singing songs in chapel and riding in the Bye Bye Buggy. He loves to go "play with the babies," and he asks about his teacher, Miss Laurie, all week long. He demands a hug from Daddy and Leo in the morning before they leave for the day. He still loves to ride on Mommy's back in the Beco for some outings where it is convenient. He's a great sleeper and eater. He does have his two-year-old moments of being completely irrational and unreasonable...but, hey, I'll save that for another post.

We went to the park this weekend to celebrate his birthday. Gran, Grandpa, and Nana came to visit for the occasion. Having a birthday in October is great - a good chance for beautiful weather. We played at the park, had a picnic lunch, opened presents, and had yummy cake cookies. Henry had a blast!

Leo always makes new friends at the park. He is NOT shy, and he never meets a stranger.
