What's Cooking.

We recently found some corn tortillas at the store that were marked as "Homemade Style." We LOVED them. So, as I paid for each package of these tortillas, I got to thinking...HOMEMADE style? Why am I paying for this?

So, this was my first attempt with a rolling pin. Also, I finally figured out in the middle of this that the boys had messed with all the settings on my point-and-shoot camera. Once I restored the factory settings, we were back in business.

With a rolling pin...They look burned b/c they had to have flour on them to be rolled out, and then the flour would burn.

So then I started looking for a tortilla press. I looked online, and they were $20 everywhere I looked. So I decided to try one of the great Mexican grocery stores we have around here. And I found one for $8. Imagine that.

The other thing that has been on my mind is homemade "Hot Pockets." So I tackled the this afternoon, and really...they were so easy. Pizza dough without all the high maintenance. Once it was over, I realized I should have done whole wheat. That would have really upped my mommy street cred. But I honestly just didn't think of it until I was almost finished. I was just following what she did on the blog. These were a HUGE hit with all three men. Todd was more excited about this than the tacos in homemade tortillas. I made 8, and four got eaten at dinner tonight.
