Getting dirt into a box

In the spring of '09, we built a box so that we could have a little raised bed for a garden. But...I just couldn't bring myself to fill it with dirt while I had a two-yr-old. I had visions of trying to keep him out of it all summer.

So it has been a big empty shell all year. Taunting me.

For some crazy reason, I decided that this year it would be ok. We shall see.

Last weekend, we filled it with dirt. This required my asking Carla nine million questions about dirt - what to buy, what was the best method to get it in the box, etc. Obviously, I am a newbie and need lots of hand holding.

But, anyway, we managed to scrape it together. It only took two stops to find just the right "dirt."

So....without further ado....here are the fascinating picture of...Getting Dirt into a Big Box...

Nice Friday night

We have been loving the mild spring weather. Lots of open windows and meals on the patio. Last Friday night was really nice, so we enjoyed some playtime after our pizza.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

We had a great time dyeing eggs this year! The boys loved it! Since Leo is off school on Good Friday, we had lots of time. The boys did their eggs, and I did some grown up eggs using men's silk ties....I learned this technique on some Internet posting I saw somewhere. I bought the ties at the Goodwill store for $1 or so apiece.
