Brothers

Leo just loves to hold Henry and touch his hair or put his binky in his mouth. We can tell that he is a little uneasy by this new routine - it will just take some adjusting. But overall, it has been much smoother (so far) than I imagined.

By the way - we aren't really cloth diapering. I do know that that's not how it's done. Henry has had a bad diaper rash since we got home from the hospital, and we kept him as exposed to the air yesterday as we could to give his skin some time to heal.

Talking to Daddy

Henry was awake for a few minutes tonight after Daddy fed him his bottle. He seems most alert after one of his evening bottles.

First Bath

Brooksie and I gave Henry his first "sponge bath" at home yesterday. I would have liked to wait a few more days, but all that hair was just so greasy - it had to be done! His favorite part was when we rinsed his hair over the sink with cups of warm water.

It's amazing how different this is with the second one. As we started washing I remembered what an event Leo's first bath was. We planned it all day - Todd was home, we heated the bathroom and warmed the towel in the dryer, I had a list from a book about how everything should be done... This time I just thought, "His hair is so greasy, I can't stand it anymore!! Let's bathe him!" And thirty minutes later it was done. But he'll never be able to say there are more pictures of Leo. We are taking his picture every time you turn around.

Halloween 2006

Leo went as Bob the Builder this year! Daddy and Brooksie did the Trick or Treating with Leo while Mommy and Henry stayed home and passed out candy. It was a nice, chilly Halloween.

Henry has arrived!

Henry was born Friday, October 27, 2006 at 11:41am by emergency c-section. He just really liked it in there and had decided to stay, so we induced labor that morning. He did not tolerate contractions very well, and his heart rate kept plummeting. My OB decided to do an urgent c-section, and he was in the world very quickly! We learned that he had been trying to come out face and forehead first - not a good idea. He weighed 6lbs 150z and was 19.5" long. He scored great on all his little newborn tests and seems to be very healthy.

We left the hospital yesterday morning at noon, and so far we are adjusting well to life at home!
