36 Weeks

I saw the doctor Friday for my 36 week check up. I am one centimeter dilated and he has dropped a little. This is the same as Leo was at 36 weeks, and five days later we had a baby. But, this is definitely a different pregnancy. I have been having cramping and contractions - not always together - for over a week now. They come and go but never get into a consistent pattern. I alternate between being frustrated and philosophical about it. One way or another, he will eventually make it into the world, I know! The wait just gets long sometimes.

We spent yesterday doing some small preparations - getting diapers, wipes, bottle supplies, and a new base for the carseat. Oh, and Toddly got his flu shot - Leo thought that was fun to watch!

It is raining here today, so we took a short walk to enjoy the wetness! Something we don't see very often these days.

Enjoying the weather

Leo and Daddy enjoy the nice weather. Leo wears a patch 2hrs/day to strengthen his eye that has an astigmatism.

Baby Celebration

My seeMOMMYrun girlfriends hosted a lovely baby celebration in mine and Henry's honor last Saturday morning. It was a "Fill the Freezer" party, and my gifts included twelve meals from Super Suppers that we will enjoy in the hectic weeks after his birth. We had pastries and drank coffee at Danielle's beautiful home.

The Nursery

Brooksie and Papa came to Texas and helped us decorate the nursery over Labor Day weekend. I decided to go with an "Ocean Critters" theme. I also worked to created more storage for this baby's room. I'm hoping the bookshelves and wall shelving for diaper paraphernalia will help keep all the clutter off the floor.
I'm so please with how the room turned out. It is very calm and cheery.

This is my first post on my new family blog. I am trying to learn how all this works.

Everything is going fine in our little world. Leo is enjoying going to preschool and Mother's Day Out 3 days/week, and I am enjoying a little break before Henry arrives. Today is the last day of my 35th week of pregnancy, so things are moving right along - but sometimes seem to drag. It has been pretty warm here, and we are all excited about some cooler weather. Todd is enjoying his new job, and the drive is not as bad as we anticipated.

Welcome to our new blog!
