Getting ready for school!

Well, it's a week until Kindergarten, and I finally got up this morning thinking about things I need to do to get ready. My list for the week is (so far)...

*new shoes for Leo
*get lunch box supplies together
*Leo got dressed before coming downstairs this morning. Tomorrow he will start using an alarm clock - he is very excited about that! We'll see how it goes. He chose that over being waked by Mommy or Daddy.
*We will be walking to school unless it is a terrible storm, since the school is so close. That means we'll need rain supplies, and a place to store that gear. I decided to make a "wet area" in the garage today. I also got some lunch stuff since I had to go to The Container Store for all the hooks.

The boys have coats and shoes, but I need to get a poncho and a warmer raincoat. For now, I just hung one of Todd's coats up there. The hooks are where Leo can reach them so he can get his own coat down and also hang it up.

I also got one of these things to hang up mops and brooms. I'm not really thrilled with it, but I think it will do.

At the Science Museum

On Tuesday, we went to a Science and Nature Museum down in Dallas with our friends Evan and Luke (and Ms. Allie). We had a great time.

Looking at a hot air balloon that went up when you pressed the button to turn on the fire.

Diaper Cream and a SNAP!

The things we do for kids! Henry had a bad diaper rash, and I've been putting Maalox on it. Imagine that - Maalox is good for diaper rash. But it's hard to get it to stay on b/c it is like water, so Carla suggested I make a paste out of it with Aquaphor. So here I was...on a Saturday night...using a chopstick to make Maalox and Aquaphor paste to put on someone's rear-end.

At one of Leo's favorite places - an amusement park called Joyland. We got bracelets so we could ride as many rides as we wanted - and we got a PARTY! stamp. lol.

Our Lubbock Trip - Fourth of July 2008 (Part 1)

We had a Subway picnic at a rest stop on the way. We loved this - fun to eat outside and the boys could explore and stretch their legs a little bit.

When we got to Gran and Grandpa's, Henry immediately got on the rocking horse! This was fun to watch b/c Leo would never ride a rocking horse when he was a toddler.

Henry loves this squishy thing!

Exploring the inside of the museum. It is really an interesting place - they have some of the windmills in a sunken area so you can walk close to the tops of them.
