Our Week

Well, we had quite a week around here. I'll try to be as concise as possible. Leo was supposed to go to Camp Grandma and Grandpa in LA on Tuesday, but he had a 102 fever Sunday night. Tuesday I took him to the doctor, and they did the strep culture and looked him all over and declared it viral. The fever was gone by the next morning, so I took him halfway and met Brooksie and drove back. They were going to stay in LA til Friday and then go to a fishing resort in E TX. BUT - Friday at noon before they were supposed to leave, he was running a fever again. I dropped everything and Henry and I went and picked him up. We went to the doctor again yesterday morning - ear infection. We were all a little disappointed with how the week turned out. Leo was really looking forward to fishing, and we were going to enjoy a little preschooler break. Oh well.

Today, we all needed to get out of the house, so we took Leo down to the Galleria to try ice skating. I went down there to pick something up a couple of weeks ago, and Leo was very interested in trying skating.

First we had to stop and look at the fountains. Amazingly, we managed not to fall in.

Leo is always amazed by these trees on the third level.

Then it was time to get our skates on. Since daddy has never ice skated, he did the picture taking and stayed with H while I helped Leo.

And then we were on the ice. Leo got pretty nervous and wanted me to stay really close, but we made it. He also got to see the zamboni smooth the ice.

He fell during his first time around the edge, so he only went around once. I decided I needed to go around a few times before we left.

Holly, I finally had time to look at the recent entries - they are great. It is amazing to me, who does see the boys too often, to see how quickly they are growing. You and Todd must be doing a great job.
GG and I love to see Leo and how much he has grown each time he is in Monroe.
Your Mom and Dad are helping me take GG to her church anniversary today. She cannot sit thru all the other stuff anymore.
WE will be gald to see you as you pass thru on your way to the beach next week -- at least, I think I have that straight.

Love,
Aunt Carolyn
