The first full day that we were at the cabin, Todd requested to just sit all day and enjoy the silence. No one asking for a juice, fighting, needing potty help, etc. It was lovely. He did his computer thing and I crocheted.
We did shrimp tacos for dinner that night with chips and salsa, beans, and another twice-baked potato.
Last year, Spring Break was not much fun. The entire state of Texas takes Spring Break at the same time (thank you, brilliant legislature)...and so all of the local attractions are totally swamped with locals and also people who come here to vacation all at the same time. I swore at the end of last year's break (when I was a crying puddle on the floor) that we would leave the state for 2010.
Then...such wonderful luck...Brooksie had the same Spring Break! That has NEVER happened! So Brooksie and Papa wanted to keep the boys for the week.
We were so excited. We decided to get a cabin on Mount Magazine in Arkansas.
I did lots of prep work before we left to get food ready so we could just throw things on the grill. For the first night, we had wonderful appetizers while we got everything together.
