Conversation on the way home from preschool today:
Leo: Mommy, do you know what God made 1st, 2nd, and 4th?
Me: No
Leo: Guess what God made first.
Me: The sun.
Leo: No, it's sparkly and it's in lightbulbs.
Me: Oh, light.
Leo: Yay, Mommy! What did God make second?
Me: The moon?
Leo: No, they grow really tall. (reaches up with arms)
Me: Trees!
Leo: Yay! Fourth?
Me: I don't know.
Leo: They turn red and green and tell you when to go.
Me: Street signs?
Leo: Yay, Mommy! (big long pause.........) Mommy, what if I am the only thing that is real, and everything else on Earth is pretend?
Me: Leo, there are some questions that you need to hang onto and ask when you get to college.
