Leo's Birthday

My New Year's baby is seven now! We started out with his favorite breakfast of bacon and eggs, and went straight on to cupcakes for dessert.

Then it was Henry's turn. We always take turns singing to each other and blowing candles on everyone's birthdays.

A video of the icing fun. (I think they have come up with new ways to dye icing? It seems much more neon and shiny than it did in the past?)

Then we went to the park and rode scooters. Henry said "woohoo!" about 35 times...just spontaneously while he was riding. Of course he wouldn't do it on tape. They were very eager on the way out and didn't want to turn back for the car...and then tuckered out on the way back. I was carrying two scooters, Todd was carrying Henry, and Leo was whining. The return trip is not nearly as exciting!

After this, we went to lunch at a local place called Mooyah that we have never been to before. We just needed to reaffirm that our boys aren't ready for restaurants - check! Still not there yet. There was wandering, laying on the floor, changing our drink a million times, etc. I have high hopes for when Henry is four. But we had good burgers.

That afternoon while Henry napped, Leo and I went to see The Princess and the Frog, which was really good. But a bit too scary for kids at the end, I thought.

And then today Henry and I took cupcakes up to Leo for his lunchtime to share with is classmates. The whole first grade sang to him, and then he got to pass out cupcakes to his class. He loved it.

The celebration will continue in a few weeks, when we will take a friend and his mom with us to Great Wolf Lodge to spend the night. Leo chose this instead of a big party for friends. Can't wait!
